Rigorous Curriculum

 

Prodigy Prep, which was specifically created to address the achievement gap that exists between African-American males and other ethnic groups (such as European-American and Asian-American students). Prodigy Prep espouses very high academic and behavioral expectations across all grade levels. Our leadership has selected a rigorous curriculum that maintains full alignment with Common Core Standards. Our students' academic success will be the expected outcome.   

 

 

Social-Emotional Development

 

Prodigy Prep encourages strong social-emotional development among the young men who attend our school, helping them to internalize a growth mindset that manifests the intersection of intelligence, grit, resiliency, and substantive success. Our staff are trained to identify barriers to positive growth (academic, social, and emotional). We will provide guidance and support that help our students to overcome those barriers and reach the apex of their abilities. 

 

 

Childhood Experience Focused

 

Prodigy Prep addresses individual student-centered issues by utilizing multiple research-based strategies for instruction and social interaction in an all-male learning environment. These strategies include having a rigorous, active curriculum and maintaining high expectations for students, faculty, staff, parents, and the community. Exposure to cultural activities, having well-trained, culturally-competent leadership, faculty, and staff, who are astute in educational best practices, such as restorative justice initiatives, are integral components to the progressive success that Prodigy Prep anticipates.
